Museum Of Contemporary Art San Diego: Dynamic Modern Works

Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego brings a dynamic arts experience to La Jolla. Focused on works created after 1950, MCASD features more than 4,000 pieces across a range of mediums, including works by Andy Warhol, Ellsworth Kelly, Sol LeWitt, Ai Weiwei, and other influential contemporary artists.

Just moments from La Valencia, the museum offers internationally recognized collections and rotating exhibitions that celebrate the art and ideas of our time.

Open daily from 11 am - 5 pm. *Note: This location is currently closed for a multi-million dollar renovation and expansion project. Please check with museum for reopen dates. The Museum Cafe remains open daily from 8:30 am to 3 pm.

Where Can I Eat At The Museum Of Contemporary Art San Diego La Jolla?

The museum has its own European-inspired bistro with Italian flare serving breakfast and lunch (brunch on the weekends,) made from locally sourced ingredients. Enjoy a local strawberry salad made with fresh arugula and goat cheese. Try the signature tuna melt made with sweet red onions on sourdough bread. Museum café is open during renovations, 7 days a week.

Check out the museum's website for special offers which include free admission for visitors ages 25 and younger, as well as their Go Green campaign which gives visitors half off admission with every valid MTS Pass (bus or trolley.) Military and their families also receive free admission.
