Know before you go

Can I Bring My Dog To Balboa Park?

Yes, dogs love Balboa as much as their owners. All dogs must be leashed and remain with you at all times except for in the three designated off-leash areas. Nate's Point, south side of Cabrillo Bridge, Morley Field, northwest of tennis courts, and Grape St. Park is designated as dog-off-leash area during the following times: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 9 pm, Saturday, Sunday & Holidays, 9 am to 9 pm.

What Outdoor Recreation Is Available At Balboa Park?

There is something for everyone at Balboa Park, and with a perfect San Diego climate; you can enjoy it all year long. Stroll through the Alcazar Garden, take a walk through the shady paths at Palm Canyon, hit the playgrounds with the kids, hike, let the pups run free, golf, swim, bike and take a yoga class - all at Balboa Park.
