Smells like vacation, feels like vacation

La Valencia Hotel is nothing short of magical. Perfectly perched right on the bay, the views from my room were absolutely breathtaking. The staff was phenomenal—clearly well-trained and truly dedicated to making my stay perfect. They handled every (and I mean every) crazy request I had with a smile. There was a stunning wedding happening right outside my window during my visit, and the entire atmosphere felt straight out of a movie. The food? Top-notch—every bite was memorable. If you're looking for a luxurious getaway with unbeatable scenery and five-star service, this is the place. Can't wait to come back!

La Valencia delivers. The location is ultra-walkable to downtown La Jolla, shopping, dining, and scenic walk to the cove. We booked an ocean-view suite sight unseen. Upon check-in, we were surprised there was no balcony and I would call our view "parking/rooftop view with ocean behind and to the far right"...but.... here is the good stuff. The Cove is a nice walk away down on-property stairs and an access controlled street gate. A huge park is between the hotel and the ocean. It is a nice place to walk and check out the sea lions. Lots of restaurants, hair salons, shopping, ice cream, and dining within a close walk. We went to the hotel table seating room for drinks and small bites. Had a few excellent rum runners and also got shrimp cocktail, hummus, and charcuterie. All excellent. Room was ready over an hour early which was nice. We had to check out super early 04:30 and valet parked our car out front...super convenient and much appreciated. Suite: decent, comfy, single sink and single restroom, no balcony, oceanview technically correct but not an amazing view. Room could have been cleaner. Shoes stuck to the floor in some spots. Clean and comfy bed. Dining/drinks: 10 out of 10. Fun date location with the wife. Got to chill and unwind with great drinks and bites. Location: crazy good. Service: great

Stopped by for cocktails before dinner reservations. Bar was crowded and hostess said grab a drink at the bar and bring it to the terrace. Cool secret. Great views and would be a nice place to watch the sunset.

INCREDIBLE venue for weddings. The staff is amazing and everywhere brings that perfect vintage, Spanish aesthetic we all want from San Diego. I photographed a wedding their last Saturday and it was perfection.

I don't know how to articulate my affection for La Valencia. This is not just a hotel; it is a destination. It is a paradise. It is a place you can walk into after a terrible day and have all of that dissolve upon entering. The environment here "holds you" like nothing I've ever experienced. It's not enough to say the Spanish architecture and high ceilings are elegant, or the view is stunning. La Valencia and the people who work here are SO SO much more than that. I have been lucky enough to stay here so much over the past two months that I feel like a resident guest who tries to optimize daily rates by creating different bookings and changing rooms to avoid having to leave at all. I know this review isn't necessary; there's no shortage of patrons wanting to book, or to come back if they've stayed before. I walk into this space and the energy alone shifts my mood and my mind, to the point at which it feels like my words will do a disservice by failing to convey how incredibly unique and special it is to be here. I think that's why it's taken me so long to write this. I can't convey how grateful I am to be here or how amazing this environment is... I have been all over the country and the world, and this is a truly unparalleled experience.

An iconic San Diego landmark. I grew up here and remember my father bringing home a 6ft halibut he had speared skin diving in LA Jolla Cove in the 1950's. The morning after I was married my new husband and I came to LA Valencia for the FANTASTIC gourmet Sunday brunch buffet they served 36 years ago. We have stopped in periodically since, and decided to book a room to celebrate 36 years of marriage. What matters to me most in a hotel is the kindness and hospitality of the staff. The location, cleanliness, amenities are important as well, but if I am treated rudely at check in it is hard to be comfortable in a place. From the beginning we experienced only pleasant, professional and helpful people. Lovely. They also gave us the best table overlooking the ocean for our brunch booking. We didn't request it, but we got it...yay. What a wonderful and tranquil spot to enjoy La Jolla. Thank you to everyone for our 36th anniversary stay couldn't have been better. My only note would be to bring back that amazing Sunday brunch buffet....I miss it. Thanks again.
