I came here to ...

I came here to have coffee and cake in the Cafe over looking the ocean. I loved the vibe here and it is so beautiful! Everyone was friendly and the cake was amazing. Although I did not stay here, I would love to one day!

A classic and historic beauty in the heart of La Jolla. Warm hospitality, the food is delicious and the views rival the French Riviera.

La Valencia Hotel lived ...

La Valencia Hotel lived up to her name. Beautiful, quiet with the exception of construction. Staff from the front desk Del who made it a point to have sparkling wine, a birthday card and candies in the room, James with Valet always had suggestions to explore. Also Richard was the friendliest, most courteous and respectful valet. The breakfast server who called me by name and made it a point to have a chocolate dessert with candle after wishes for a beautiful birthday! We have two complaints...bathroom incredibly small and after prepaying a fee to stay late so we could enjoy lunch at the Med and a last walk along the shore line.As we opened the door we found housekeeping standing against the wall waiting with her cart to clean our room. So we for went our plan and left earlier...honestly that left me disappointed and with a bitter feeling. If you want more space, better view of the ocean than stay in a suite or Villa(second floor) they have a balcony you can safely step out on and enjoy. We did try the pool and spa...spa was not working and very yellow. For a National Historical Hotel....she is maintained, loved and well taken care of. To enjoy a meal outside facing the ocean romantic, The bar if you have friends great to enjoy drinks. This was a first for me to stay where there was no gift boutique surprisingly. But you walk out the front door to many beautiful boutiques, restaurants, little diners and even a great book store!! Enjoy the atmosphere, the hospitality, and the serene beauty of a good healthy walk!! Thank You all for a marvellous stay and one to cherish!!
