Wonderful ocean views by thr pool. Great time!

We stayed here 2 nights in October during the last gasp of The Lost Summer of COVID, 2020. It was the first time that we stayed at a hotel since the pandemic began. We were delightfully surprised by amount of pre-cautions and safety measures that La Valencia implemented to make guests feel comfortable. Customer service was impeccable. Almost felt “normal”. But no reason to ruminate over what we cannot control - fantastic pivot into the New Normal, La Valencia. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

The La Valencia Hotel was truly a wonderful escape. We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel and grounds are gorgeous and upon arrival we felt like we had stepped into Hawaii meets Paris, meets Miami. Way beyond our staycation goals! I am someone who is very cautious and worried about COVID-19 and this hotel did a great job of making sure their guests were safe. Everyone was masked and the room was spotless as were the grounds. Every employee we encountered was excellent and went above and beyond in their service. Cole checked us in and made us feel so very welcome. I mentioned that I had made note in my reservation asking for a balcony version of our Vintage King Ocean room (knowing there is no guarantee we will get one) and he happily provided that. We dined on the ocean view terrace and Ryan (I believe that was his name) was our fantastic server! He showed great care to us and all guests there, making it a lovely dinner. Food was great!! Enrique provided us our room service breakfast the next morning and he also went above and beyond in his service. Did I mention that room service is delish and I believe it is 24 hours! At the pool we had a wonderful server as well. Unfortunately her name escapes me but she was excellent and ran that entire show on her own like a pro! She made a mean cucumber margarita as well! I want to take this opportunity to implore you all to be kind to the staff. Not just here but everywhere. They are working so incredibly hard to provide excellent and safe service and we should treat them with kindness and grace and tip nicely! I am so excited to have found the La Valencia Hotel. Again, it is truly an escape and we cannot wait to come back! Thank you, La Valencia!

Fantastic! Great views. Caring and eager staff. Super comfy beds and room. Food at LaMed at the hotel was delicious! Easy walk to LaJolla cove and the wonderful sea lions there.
