The best meal that I have had in a long while.

Amazing hotel! We spent our first anniversary here and it was an incredible experience! The staff did a fantastic job of accommodating us for our celebration and keeping a safe/clean environment. The location is perfect for walking around La Jolla and plenty of options for outdoor dining.

I do not even know where to begin in expressing my love for this hotel! I am lucky enough to be able to afford staying at hotels every once in a while to get work down outside of a busy and noisy household. I decided it would be a good time to check out some hotels, at these lower prices, and see if I liked the rooms/food/ambience and find the best places for after the vaccinations and life opens up. La Valencia is by far my favorite! I am honestly a bit ashamed it took me so long to try it out! The rooms are beautiful, the views are straight out of a story book, and the food/service is amazing! Kingsley, at the front desk, is wonderful! Everything from his knowledge to his welcoming smile is what you hope for after a stressful week (or year, month, day - what is time even anymore?)! The check in/out was easy, covid friendly, and stress free! He takes the time to remember you by name and say hello if you pass by! I did not get her name, but the woman who delivered my food and took orders was phenomenal! She was kind, gracious, covid safe, and super personable! The food and drinks were so incredibly delicious! The little interactions matter, these days, as they are all the social contact we really have. This staff excelled and the hotel was so beautiful and historic! I have already booked my second stay! I did not try the amenities outside of the room. I was assured everything is remaining covid safe, which is a huge plus to comfort! Thank you for making my break all that more enjoyable!

Doggy friendly outdoor seating. Nice, simple menu, delicious lamb, lovely downtown La Jolla. Service was excellent, live music.

We had such a wonderful time this past weekend. The hotel is lovely and very well maintained. The staff is super helpful and friendly.
